At First AME Church of Los Angeles, we believe spiritual growth happens when people of all ages are taught, trained, encouraged, and rooted in the Word of God. Through Sunday School and Bible study opportunities, children, youth, and adults are invited to learn scripture, ask questions, build community, and grow in their walk with Christ.

Sunday School for Children & Youth
Our Children and Youth Sunday School serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Each class is designed to help young people learn about the Lord in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and meaningful.
Younger children learn through Bible lessons, activities, arts, crafts, and creative teaching. Older students are encouraged to grow through discussion, scripture, technology, and practical lessons that help them understand Jesus and apply God’s Word to their lives.

Our children and youth curriculum uses resources from Urban Ministries to help students grow in biblical understanding and faith.
Adult Sunday School
Adult Sunday School is open to all adults ages 18 and older. This class provides a welcoming space for adults to study God’s Word, grow in Christian service, and find encouragement for real-life challenges and concerns.
The Adult Sunday School uses an open forum format led by instructors each Sunday, based on approved AME literature and scripture. Together, participants study, pray, share, encourage one another, and enjoy fellowship in the Lord.

Our Adult Sunday School Mission
The mission of Adult Sunday School is to teach, train, and nurture adults in God’s Word; prepare believers for Christian service by emphasizing Christian principles; and provide biblical resources, solace, and fellowship to address real-life challenges and concerns.
