Prayer of Perseverance

Almighty and Eternal Lord, we thank you for your consideration towards us for we have been living in a season filled with uncertainty for a long time. This pandemic weighed heavy in our lives, and we thank you for seeing us through every added stress such as chronic illnesses, grief, loss, family and marital strains, and financial and food insecurities. Lord, these struggles were ever-present, but we are reminded of your words in 2 Peter Chapter One verses 5-7 that we are add to our faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. Your Word also tells us in Ephesians 6 verse 18 that we are to Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer with supplication. To that we commit to keeping alert and remind ourselves to always persevere in supplication for all the saints.

Lord, we will be mindful to pray every prayer with supplication and perseverance which allows us to it take our eyes off our own needs and will free us from the anxiety of thinking and worrying about our own situations. Lord, as we get Your Holy Word in our Spirit, we thank you that the Holy Spirit reminds us to see that the world is not about our situations only, and that others are going through things, sometimes, much more severe than ours. This realization calms our minds, humbles us, and restores us to a place of personal praise and appreciation.

Eternal God, we call on the spirit of Nehemiah as we stand on the wall with perseverance in prayer because the enemy is seeking to devour us, and is seeking to kill, steal, and destroy. We bind Satan because by whatever name we choose to call him, he is not a fool, and according to your word in Ephesians 6 and 12, his kingdom is highly organized, and he is a good strategist who doesn’t give up easily. Oh Lord, Our God, we therefore stand on the wall persistent in our prayers because the enemy is very persistent and consistent n attacking your Children by attempting to wear us out with a constant bombardment of trials, tribulations, afflictions, and infirmities. So we pray with that same persistency and consistency in your word and in your truth so that we may counter the snares of the enemy.

Lord we ask that you let the energy of these persistent attackers dry up in Jesus name.

And Finally, we ask that your Holy Spirit rests, rules and abides in us as we agree to walk in step with you in everything. Holy Spirit bring our prayers to mind throughout the day so that we may walk in perseverance, confidence, uncommon staying power, a changed attitude and with God’s prevailing power being released in the our lives as we pray in the name of our Risen and Ruling Savior, Jesus the Christ.

And let the People of God say Amen.
