Bible Study — Tuesday at 6:15pm in the Choir Room (except Tuesdays following the 4th Sunday of the month)

 

What is your mission?

The Youth Ministry at First AME Church of Los Angeles’s mission is to encourage youth ages 6 thru18 to embrace transformation, hope, opportunity, and salvation.

 

Please provide a brief description of how you would describe yourself to the public?

Youth Ministry is designed to supplement the work of commissions, committees, and departments at FAME who work directly with children and youth in our church and surrounding community. Through our work, we teach the Word of God by connecting relevant cultural and life experiences to the ancient cultural and religious practices written in the Bible. Moreover, we expose youth to educational and professional opportunities, while ensuring that they are engaged in fun activities to fellowship with young believers. Ultimately, we create a safe space for youth to pursue holistic development — mind, body, and spirit — asking difficult questions about faith and religion so they come to understand Christianity with their head and heart.

 

Matthew 18:1-5 “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
